GANSO

Who We Are

GANSO is a Colombian organization supported by Climate Focus and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).

We were established in 2019 with the goal of transforming areas with degraded pastures and soils into green, productive, and sustainable landscapes.

Our Goal

Our goal is to achieve a sustainable transformation of land use in Colombia, reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with agricultural and livestock production, decrease deforestation, and promote a low-carbon economy.

What We Do

Our work focuses on providing reliable, comprehensive, and long-term technical support and financial guidance to landowners. At GANSO, we aim to integrate livestock intensification with tree-based cropping systems, ecosystem conservation, restoration, and the formalization of ecosystem services.

What Do We Mean by Sustainable Livestock Farming?

It refers to a set of practices implemented in livestock systems that improve and maintain productivity without harming the environment—protecting it and using natural resources responsibly—while also ensuring social well-being.
